Order FAQ

1. When do I pick up?

Pick up is the second full weekend on the month of pick up and detailed in the order form.  See planned 2021 pick up weekends below:

2. Where can I pick up my order?

We encouraged visits to the farm at Yass and to pick up directly from our farm, however we do have options to pick up from Canberra City Farm on occasion.  We usually split our pick-up weekend between each location and it’s best to let us know your intention before pick up.

3. Do I receive the same KG of meat that I pay for?

No. All prices and weights for orders are based on hanging weight and include cutting and wrapping. Take home weights are approximately 20-35% less than hanging weight due to trimming and deboning. We encourage all our customers to utilise as much of the animals and provide options to include offal, fat, and bone.

4. Why do I have to pay a deposit now?

A deposit of 20% is required at the time of order. This reserves your order and confirms that the order is legitimate. If you have unforeseen we can make alternative arrangements for pick up, but it is important that you do your best to remember what and when you are due to pick up your order.

Repeat offenders that do not pick up orders over the designated weekend may be prevented from ordering again.

Deposits are not required when payment plans are entered into. See below for more information.

5. I’ve ordered everything for the year, but it’s a lot of money? Do you have a payment plan option?

Yes, we encourage anyone ordering upfront at the beginning of the year to organise a payment plan.  This is a win-win for both us and you the customer as it smooths out the cash flow ups and downs experienced on both sides around pick up.

6. What happens after I place an order?

We receive an email with your order details and send you an invoice estimate providing confirmation of your order and a request for your deposit that payment.

Note: Orders are not reserved until a deposit is received or a payment plan has been entered into.

7. When do I find out the final invoice amount?

Final invoices are issued once hang weights are confirmed, the week prior to pick up. Payment of invoice balances are due before or at the time of pick up, unless a payment arrangement has been entered into.
